My front seats are broken..? No range of movement..

    Hey
Both my front seats are f'ed....
Both have lost their complete range of movement, or at least most if it.
It is a cabrio, but neither seat folds foreward...
They dont lean back, nor do they slide back..
I am sure there are a bunch of busted components... does anyone know if there is a kit for sale to rebuil the mechanical part of the seats?
Anything else I can do to restore them (not the leather..)
or am I better off looking for used seats (in better mechanical shape) elsewhere?
    Thanks

you can drop these seat mechanism from 3 story building and they might still be okay. Its build like a brick and it weighs a brick. you just need new shocks, and grease the tracks. Rebuild kit? no you need to regas the shocks in teh seat, there is 4 for each seat. Brand new ones will run you 150 for a pair of four. Use ones at the yard shouldnt be expensive.

      hey

its not the shocks in the seat... the seats are fucked... the passenger one sits lopsided, and crooked... like the back isnt straight, you would lean sideways sitting in it...
im thinking that i am better off looking for new seats?
any one know if you can buy the mechanisms and parts in the seat seperately?
      hmm..

        possibility
1.) missing screw or bolt from the seat back thats making it lopsided
2.) frame is broken at the weld, and needs just to be rewelded.

the answer is yes you can buy the parts seperately, but why would you, when yours work fine?

here, educate yourself and look on real oem with the parts breakdown. Then do a much better diagnosis and post again.

If your seats are not in GREAT condition, I would just suck it up and buy a newer/nicer set.

*shameless plug* Like the ones I have. Manual, Tan, Leather, Sport seats. I have a pretty nice matching back seat as well... But, you are in Canada...
