Aluminum conducts heat better than steel... but seriously... who cares if it's a bit warm? It's not like it'll get hot enough to burn your hand or anything.

I have the RK2.. Its not how hot the knob gets in the summer its how cold it gets in the winter..bitter cold..but i also live in New England and we had an extremely cold winter last year.

Buy some driving gloves and suck it up.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Since the rk3 is out of stock at UUC, would anyone buy from here?

The same guy that runs that store hosted the group buy for SPEC Clutches on BImmer Forums. Went smoothly. I don't see any reason not to. ;)

I have an RK3 in my E36, and another RK3 in my E30. I love 'em. Brushed aluminum is very sexy - and it feels great, with the extra heft in your hand. I live in south Georgia, so it's hot and bright often - it can get hot if it's sitting uncovered in the sun, but it cools quickly once you get in the car and have the AC running or whatever. It's definitely a good choice.

Buy a Whalen Shift Machine. Basically a spherical 18 oz stainless steel shift knob. Also has a quick disconnect feature so you can stow it on hot/cold days, and its pretty much impossible to accidently pop the knob off during a hard shift.
