Gods cupholder reproduction

A few years ago there was an Ebay vender selling custom fabricated E30 cupholders that looked completely stock. I bought one for around 68.00 US. A few days later the vender emailed me and said he could not get the materials to make one and dident know when he would be able to make them again so he sent my money back. I have not seen any of his postings since and his old URL bmwcupholders dot com is not some generic squatter site. He lived in Atlanta and had a silver E30 if anyone knew him. Now im posting this because i would like to know if there is anyone who can reproduce this product as ive desperately wanted one for some time. I would be willing to pay up to 100.00 US for one of equal quality and im sure others would as well.

If i remember correctly it is fiberglass covered in stock looking vinyl

Thats really cool. It even has a spot to plug in chargers and such. Would look nice with a cover over the hole though.

He charged an extra 10$ or so for the cig lighter hole but i think i tried to get one with out it. You could just put your stock cig lighter in it:)

IIRC he stopped selling them because the actual cup holding ring was some sort of car audio piece that is NLA.

Is it one of those bass port tube things? That part could easily be substituted with something else.

Yeah, It was a bass port but in some specific diameter. Maybe contact the guy and get him to sell you the mold? I'd certainly like to have one.

Id love to but i cant find any way to contact him. All i remember about him is he lived in atlanta and looked like an older delatlanta coincidentally. Would my ebay records have anything about him since we made a transaction? I was hoping someone crafty in this sort of fiberglass work would see this and be interested in a group buy and making some moniez:p

Is fiberglass that difficult? I wonder what it would cost to get one molded in ABS plastic.

theres a reason why there are no cupholders in a e30......besides thats what the passenger is for.

Well it probably dident matter much in the 80s but in this day and age its pretty nice to have especially if your E30 is your DD. Im sure whitney would like one in the eta for that morning cup of joe.
