I'd say stick with the e30 sport seat. If you dont fit, make yourself fit. Everytime I ride in a cheap recaro knockoff I cant help but to think what a piece of shit it is. Maybe get some vaders if you're going to spend that much money on a base seat anyways. I've seen shitty ones go for $350, which if you're going to reupholster them anyways, isnt a big deal.

if you end up going for the stock sport seat, check out www.leatherseats.com

they have some pretty decent prices.

i'm not reupholstering these race seats. if i get the stock sport seat i would reupholster. but i'm not getting them.

and how can i make myself fit if i'm too wide of a build for the seats and they don't hold me properly :roll:

i'd be a ricer if i went around claiming i had genuine recaro's, i'm not doing that, i'm getting knockoff recaro's that are more comfortable and more fitting then my current seats, that won't take any reupholstering on my part, and fit the overall interior of my car better then my current seats.

when i can dish out the 1300$ or so it will cost me to get a nice mint set of vader's then by all means, sounds like a great buy.

I don't like non-sport bmw seats, and i don't fit in the oem sport-seats.

What am i supposed to do? If you can show me a link or some fabrication of materials in which i can get two Vader front seats for 350$, by all means, do so, because i've never heard of such atrocities.

ps... I was partially joking about the ricer thing, I just hate cheap seats with a passion. Don't look at these seats like they're $400 seats... they're $240 seats with a rediculous $160 shipping charge... This is all IMHO, if you don't agree, I don't give a fuck, and neither should you.

lol. i undertsand anything can be attained if you shop around, these will definitely not be the last set of seats in my e30. But they're a good start. Yea i realize they are 240$ seats, with a huge ass shipping charge. Unfortunately that's gonna be the standard almost for any seats i get shipped to WA, and this state isn't exactly a prime location for e30 deals, finding a decent e30 up here was hard enough. I'm not expecting any quality seats out of this, just satisfactory ones. For the record, this thread was started a month ago or so, but i spent some time talking with matt325is, who owns a set of the seats, and thought i'd make a followup post on it and get some last minute commentary. I do value everyone's input, i would LOVE to throw down a grand for some genuine recaro's, but for now, as a student, these will have to do the trick. They may not be uber high quality, but they look nice for what they are, and matt says they're uber comfy. And thats that. Thanks :)
