E36 seats in an E30 convertible?

Will it work? What if any fabrication is needed? Will E36 M3 Vader's work in an E30 convertible? My leather Recaros are broken down and ripped so, I want to replace them with some E36 seats. If anyone has done this, do you have a picture? What all does the conversion entale? Oh, I've got an 89' 325i convertible if that matters.

Just plop them in and drill new holes and get some bolts to go through the floor.

I don't think it's been done in a Cab........and I personally don't think it will work since our cab's are not as wide inside the cockpit.

Oh, I didn't know that the convertible was any narrower than the coupe or sedan. How many inches are we talking about here? If I new how far apart the rails were spaced on E36 seats and a few other dimensions I could compare them with my current. But, I don't have any way of knowing that. Anyone out there have E36 seats or know of the dimensions? Thanks for all the replies and help.

I didn't know that either. Thicker doors maybe? I know the car itself isn't narrower.

e36 seats probably wouldn't fit if the width was even 1" narrower. I'll try and remember to post some pictures of my e36 seats tomorrow.

the rocker panel area of the convertible is different...interior wise that area sticks out more and there is a plastic trim peice that covers it. also, I think the tranny tunnel is different its either a little shorter or a little narrower...how about someone measure the width of the sedan/coupe from just bellow the door to the tranny tunnel and I'll measure the cabrio
