depo lights - can you fix the leak?

So I love the look of CLEAN, BRIGHT lenses. A friend just picked up some depo lights (I know they have a reputation of being crap)

So from what I've read the plastic is brittle and the housing gets dirty/fogged up in the rain or just from washing.

Is there anyway to seal the lights up getter to preven this? Other wise they seem to be what I am looking for? Any one toy with this idea?

I'm sure you could silicone the shit out of them and be fine. But I would much rather buy some real used Hellas then those lights.

The DEPO lights that were on my other E30 I just sold didn't fog up or anything. They were on that car for 2 years and were used when I bought them. I kept them cause they worked alright and put stocked sealed beams on that car when I sold it. I may put them on my car that Im in the middle of a M50 conversion or buy a set of the smoked headlights.

Yeah, they fog up. Every time you wash your car.

        Solution? what MR 325 said.

Pop the outer ring off, silicone the shit out of them, and then pop the outer ring back on.

The problem is really that the beam pattern is complete shit, and the highbeams are useless.

Best way to fix the leaks is to put them in the garbage where they belong. Better yet, seal them up and sell them on fleabay. Someone will give you more than they are worth. I seem to recall Jordan sold some US ellips for an obscene amount. I have had some crazy prices on things there as well.

what did they look like? On the set I have, both highbeam lenses are cracked and I either need new lenses or just to sell these and get euros. I bought the lights, a front valance with foglights (1 good, 1 cracked) for 120 bucks. Its a good thing i saw this thread, i was thinking those depo lights were a good deal.

Ah yes, I remember laughing my ass during the last 5 minutes of that auction.

save your money and buy real ellipsoids. Depos are just not worth it. they look nice, but that's about it.

                      Ditto.

Then I contacted the second highest bidder of his auction and sold mine for $225.

But seriously, Greg sells ellipsoids for great prices... get some from him.
