really need some help. . .

I have a 1984 318i and theres a huge problem, none of the lights work except the back signal and break lights. The high beams work when you pull the shaft, but dont when you push it. Anyone know what may be causing the rear break and signal lights to work, but none of the other lighting including interrior lights as well?

you have a open or short somewhere. goodluck finding it!

Purchase a multimeter and learn how to use it.

Replace your turn signal stalk (the probable cause of the high beams working when you pull, not push)

Take a look at these schematics:

Trace the wires, check for voltage where possible.

I had a similar problem, I had to replace the headlight relays and make sure all the relays were tight so they could make a good connection, and they started working again.
