I am one day going to snap and drive my car into those stupid 55w HID users and kill us all.

35W HIDs aren't significantly better. The glare problem is unavoidable when using HIDs in halogen projectors as the light source isn't in exactly the right spot and the projectors just were not designed for the same sharpness of cutoff.

If you want to do it right, retrofit a projector that takes D2S bulbs behind a Bosch lens.

Also, HIDs in the high beams is just stupid. There's just no reason to bother when you can put in 9011/HIR bulbs instead. Why would you give up your ability to flash the high beams just to get a completely useless increment in light output?

^my 55watts put out so much light that when I turn on my highs, it really just illuminates thing above the cutoff. It doesn't increase the throw of the light - you can't see *further* really. You can see reflectors along the road a bit more - that's all.

If you look at the HID picture thread (I'm sure you have) you'll see that the cut off is very good. It's just as good as my friend e53 x5 I would say. I think with proper tweaking of the aiming there isn't any reason to say they have glare.

I think most people have glare because 90% of people are retards and have no business adjusting headlight, but we already knew that. :D

I have the euro lights (H1/H4) with an ebay 4300k 35w kit in the low beams. Loads of light, almost as good as my E39 with OEM euro lights (the best headlights I've ever driven with). No warranty, but who cares? I thought the ebay kits were dirt cheap at $79 when I bought mine a couple of years ago, but I guess they're even cheaper now.
