Yellow fogs and healights-Are they coated with yellow?

Hey guys-quick question-are the late-model fogs and headlights coated with a yellow coating or is the glass on them actually yellow?

I have a set of yellow fogs, and one is slightly lighter than the other. Also, if these are pitted, will polishing take the yellow off?

    Thanks!

It's usually Lamin-X or some sort of film to cover them. Some people install the I believe "frenched" highbeam or the lights from the old MBZ that actually has yellow glass.

My buddies company is the link below. Name is Harlan. He also drives an E30.
I just got a set for my M3. I haven't put them on yet but I can tell you they look so awesome when I put the film up to my high beam.

They are yellow cause the French are a bunch of ass hats. Have you ever talked to a french guy? They are annoying as shit. And so are their headlight.

Legit French fogs/lows/higs are made from cadmium glass and wont "flake" off. They also have a unique part#

Yeah, I have a brand new set of yellow fogs-but one is a little lighter. I was thinking about getting another set of used ones and polishing them, and wanted to make sure the yellow wouldn't come off.

george-yes, the french are a little annoying...thanks for the helpful post!
