You can't get Osram Silverstars for US Ellips. They only come in H-Code (as far as I know... unless they've come out recently... which I doubt).

looks like silverstars come in many formats:
SYLVANIA is the leading automotive lighting supplier, providing high performance lighting products. Use our bulb replacement guide to find the right bulb that fits your vehicle.

also pepboys here in chicago has silverstars as well as normal and upgrade Sylvania lighting

He asked about Osrams, not Sylvanias.

Not quite. The Osram silverstars are brighter and do not have a blue tint that the Sylvania has. The Sylvania is also not as bright as the Osram.

Someone who feels like getting more technical please jump in.

Osram is the parent company of Sylvania as well.

hids are at least a year away.

I am 18, and $400.00 for hids is not a wise idea.

I was crazy for installing a HU and Sub!!!

Buy 80 or 100 watt halogen bulbs.

Mine were Hella brand, I bought them from http://www.classicgarage.com/ They are just normal bulbs but higher wattage. Very bright, and only like $10 a pair.

With the sharp beam cutoff of the ellipsoids I use the Silverstar 9006 high beams as my lows. It takes minor modification (Remove the ridges inside the plug and trim one of the three prongs) but otherwise fits right in. I get great light and the sharp cutoff saves oncoming traffic from glare.

Correction: The high beam bulbs I use are the 9005s.
