    need help with H.I.D.

I currently have sealed beams on my 87 vert. I also have an h4 HID kit. Which housings are recommended for the h4 bulbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

As far as I know, HID's in an H4 housing is not good because they don't have a good enough cut off to avoid blinding oncoming cars. It's probably doable with a Hella H4 conversion kit, but I don't know how safe it would be on the road for other drivers. US or Euro ellipsoids are good for HID use apparently, but they take H1 I think.

You are best off selling that kit, then buying a set of US (9006) or Euro (H1) headlight assemblies and the appropriate HID kit.

No if you DON'T have ellipsoids is when people are blinded, you need the ellipsoids style housing to direct the light or it's scatered everywhere.

It's pretty much true that Euro ellips aren't very good for HID's. They have an angled cutoff that will blind the shit out of driver's in lanes to the right of your car. US ellips offer a much better flat cutoff.

Well I suppose you have a good point there, didn't think of the cutoff

                          Oh well ;)

do the smileys have the same angles that a euro elpis would have?

                              Smilies are euro ellipsoids.
