    Red sidemarkers in front

I did this mod a very long time ago, but didn't post the resulting pictures.

I bought some red sidemarkers off of BimmerSteven and simply swapped the stock amber for these red sidemarkers.

    8)

I am very happy with the results. The cost was minimal: $10 for the sidemarkers shipped. The look is a lot more clean and stylish. It is not as ghetto as smoked, and not as ricer as clear. I hope to get some clear or smoked front turn signal lenses sometime.

But I recommend this for anyone with a white, black, red, or silver car. The difference is really worth the little pocket change you have to shell out for two used red sidemarkers.
The red really works best with my red paint, but should look good on the other three colors as well.

If you want to experiment......it's very easy to test the look (duh) - simply pop out your rears and put them in the front. See how you like the look.

The red looks good, but I don't know how it would look on my silver car. I think smoked would look best for me.

    Nice job.

I dunno, I much prefer the look of smoked signals on my car. I experiemented with red all around but looked too busy still.

Yeah, those screws still need to be painted.

I think smoked looks the best definitely. It really blends in to the trim well. I covered all of my signals and parking lights with smoked lamin-x film and was quite pleased with the results. It really blends in well to the black bumper surround on my '84.

Only problem is now you're blatantly breaking DOT regulation. True, we do this all the time with ellips, but to your average joe traffic cop, noticing someone has red lights which are only supposed to be on teh rear 1/4 of a car on the front is much more likely than that cop noticing smilies ;).

Don't get me wrong, I think they look good. Especially on a red car.

I saw that on an e34 once and thought it to be someone who didn't care about their car enough to put the proper one in when the other one was smashed or whatever. I think it looks lazy. Much better to just go without.

haha, a cop noticing the difference? I don't see it as likely. With all those damn ricers with altezza all clear lights, underbody neons, blackedout headlights, 5% tint......I think they'll be too busy to notice my stylish red sidemarkers in the front!

You make a true point, but I see it as unlikely.

Of course if red is off limits, then black or painted is definately illegal (Super-eta's rattle can mod). I like it because it's simple, tasteful, and a nice improvement.

I dont think a cop would notice. I dont even think a cop would notice that my car doesnt have any side markers. He also would probably notice the H4/H1 lights that are "off road use only." KNOCK ON WOOD :D

Aaron, I don't think your cabrio will be "off-road" any time in the near future :D But hmmm a 325 ix, a 6 inch lift kit with Rancho shocks might work....NOT!!!
