    E30 Fog Light Mod?

Can anyone tell me if this is a easy mod. Also my E30 is my weekend car (X5 3.0i during the week). After sitting for the week when I turn on my radio, sometimes I get a "hit pitch sqeal". After a 15-20 minutes it seems to play itself out. Does anyone have any ideas (amp maybe). I 've had the radio out and checked out, Was told it was fine.

    Thanks,

That's what happens to the original stereos. I can't turn my volume down, I have to turn it off and then turn it to a lower setting. A friend's original unit crackles terribly when adjusting the volume. I'm no audiophile, but I'd guess a new headunit would fix it.

I'm also interested to find out what this fog light mod is.

What exactly do you want to mod with your fog lights?

probably wants to run independent fogs.

all you do is jump the relay w/ a piece of wire.

Use this for the fogs: http://e30.bmwdiy.info/indy-fogs/index.html

I don't understand what you're trying to say about the radio. Elaborate a little bit more so other's can help you out as well (unless I am the only one who doesn't comprehend your post)

I've had my fogs "wired" independent with a little bit of aluminum foil for over 3 years. FWIW

Will that work on an 88' car?

Wow. Thanks. Sorry I have not replied, I was just checking the "thread" and it read "0" so I didn't think anyone responded.

Yes what I was looking for was a way to run my driving lights with my parking lights only. The "dyi" website was perfect but I must admit I'm concern that the relay dosen't seat totally.

Yes The radio also "crackle" sometimes not to be confuse with static when turning up the volume. That can be taken care of with spray. Don't spend $150 like I did the first time. But my E30 is all org. except for the glovebox mounted changer. I will replace the amp if I have to.

                    Again thanks,

                    RJ

I have an oem Blaupunkt amp that worked perfectly 10 or so years ago when it was no longer used due to the orig. head unit coming out.

Is that the type BMW used? I haven't taken it out but I thinks it is mounted in trunk on the left side.
