turn signals flash only when activated?

ok noob question. how can i make the turn signals not light up when the headlights and fog lights are on. i only want them to light up when the turn signal is activated. other than that i have a smoked lense which i like the look of and dont want to ruin it with the bulb always on and glowing amber.

block the parking light contact behind the bulbs with electrical tape or something? Not a good idea though.

I do this all the time and have never had an issue in the last 6 years of doing it. Electric tape.

Was in the office when i typed that top line on my phone...but OP- go ahead and use the electric tape. The only issue is a cop may ask you about it but ive never had an issue and i pass several cops at night. I only remove the sliver of tape from the bulb 1 day a year and thats for inspection. The bulbs last a long time as well. Ive only replaced them once and that was before doing the tape 'mod'...so maybe 7-8 years ago?
