He is going from US spec Hella ellipsoids (9006/9005 2 prong connectors) to these obviously for sealed beam cars. I would stick to the ellipsoids or convert to Depo/Euro ellipsoids.
OP, what you have are 4 LOW beam housings (3 prong H4 bulbs) with 2 mounted sideways for whatever reason.
