Alpine Vert.....smoked or clear smileys?

Please help me decide whether I should go for clear smileys or smoked ones with cross hairs. While I love the smoked cross hairs, im worried that the whole front end would be too plain and dark. I have black kidneys too....

Personal preference depending on the motif of the overall car, wheel choice, shadow line interior etc.

On Alpineweiss you can go either way and it'll look good but if you are set on keeping a black grill then I'd be more inclined to go with smoked smilies.

i vote clear i think that smoked lights while the crosshairs are cool i think the make the front end look way too dark

Nope, black kidneys suck regardless of the car, they blend in and hide one of BMW's trademark designs. I say clear headlights with clear front turn signals and all-red tails or smoked with smoked turns and tails.

On a white car I like clear the best.

The black kidneys are a temp thing. Just painted it over since the kidney cracked on it's favorite spot. (upper right corner of right kidney) I have to say, I do miss the chrome kidney....

Alpine cars need smoked headlights..., actually all e30s need smoked headlights. It looks so much more agressive!

Here are some pics of the car. Kidneys were still stock then. Valence and fender will be fixed and painted. Wheels will be changed soon too....too dark

I will admit that smoked headlights look slightly better but they will lessen the amount of light output but not by very much.

Perhaps you should buy clear ones and if you like.. you just put the smoked lamin-x over them... That way you can change them and not be locked down to one look or the other.

Hella style smoked lights don't reduce output at all.



What do you guys think? clear or smoked? I like both. I like the clear because you can see the projector and smiley and they match the grill but I also like the smoked colorline Hella's because they make the car look aggressive.

I love smoked but your car needs the contrast you get from clear barry.
