smoked side markers

does anyone know where i can can get smoked side markers for my M3?

I'd say get stock ones and use lamin-X on them. I don't think anyone makes smoked ones, and the lamin-X actually looks really good. That's what's on my car.

Are you missing the whole assembly? or just the lens?

Did some googling and I didn't see anything available. It looks like even the stock OEM amber front side marker is difficult to find new (from what I gathered from this thread). However BMW may stock it again now though so it's worth checking up on. The part # is 63141385419

If you have the assembly and just need the lens then I think a DIY would be the only solution. What I'd suggest is go to the junkyard and look around for some VW or Jaguars that came stock with smoked Hella tail lights. I can't recall exactly the make or model but they seem to be a dime a dozen as I see them often. I'd harvest some of the prismatic smoked plastic from one of the smoked tail light assemblies using a hacksaw. Then trim to fit more precisely at home and use that for your smoked side marker lens.

You could also follow this DIY and use smoked plexiglass instead.

They never existed. It's a diy mod. To make matters worse those lights are NLA and very expensive when they are available.

They did exist, I have them in my car.
Hella made them, what is normally yellow is smoked and then on the inside they have an orange piece to have the proper colors shine through when the light is on.

Call them first and see if it's available. Otherwise, if you order it online, they will process the order, try to order it from Germany and by the time it comes back NLA, a month passes. They also have E30 M tech front /rear grill badges for $40 each on their website...too bad they have been NLA for years and no they can't get them. I have tried with several NLA parts. So just because they have it on their site and it shows a price, it doesn't mean they actually have the part.
