Make sure and put them in projector housings, or you're a risk to other drivers on the road.

This.
DO NOT just throw HID bulbs in stock ellipsoid headlights. You need to have lenses that are designed to work with HID bulbs. More here:

eh - whatever. it seems to work just fine (in E30 projectors).
Daniel Stern has a product to sell you.. go figure. :pComment

There's no magic in putting HIDs in ellipsoids. It's all about the cut off.
And if you can, *do not* buy from DDM if you can. They have the worst customer service ever.Last edited by george graves; 07-12-2013, 11:06 AM.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment

exactly. the cutoff tends to work just fine with E30 ellipsoids. what you really benefit from with newer projectors are better optics/efficiency but it's not like they'll be dangerous or something.Comment

Hadn't hear about this. I bought some spare bulbs when I got my kit. I'll have to swap one out and test this some time.Originally posted by Matt-Bhey does anyone know anyone who gets upset and makes electronics?Comment

So I was lead to the Daniel Stern write up by the guys from Rally Lights. They have plenty of lights to sell. So tell me this then.. If its SUCH a great upgrade why can you not buy them from OE sources? Like rallylights.com or even daniel stern? This.
