Euro smiley question about reflector....Having an issue with the light bouncing off

on the passenger side (Bosch). With the headlights on, and looking at the headlights, the drivers side produces light in the smiley cutout, but the passenger side doesn't.

I took apart the passenger low beam to see if maybe the reflector was corroded or dirty, and it appears everything is fine. The reflector just below the smiley cutout is intact.

Installed HID's yesterday, and that is when i noticed this. I cant remember if the halogen bulbs did the same though.

Anyone know if there is parts missing here, or can shed some light on why light isn't coming out of the smiley cutout? Thanks!

can anyone tell me if the alumimum cutoff plate that's attached to the bowl is supposed to be on the bottom or the top of the projector? Right now the plate is fixated on the bottom, so I'm thinking this is restricting the light to bounce down to the smiley cutout?

If you're thinking of the plate I think you're thinking, yes it goes on the bottom of the lens... I have mine sitting on my desk, I'll snap a pic when I get home...

thanks man! I'm baffled because that plate (assuming we are talking about the same thing) is sitting on the bottom as well for me. But the chrome painted reflective bowl section is on top...and everything seems to be riveted in place (so I can't really move things around). I'm thinking this reflective bowl should be inverted on mine, to allow the light to bounce thru the smiley cutout. I guess I should really just disassemble the properly working drivers low beam to confirm how everything should be oriented....just wanted to avoid it since I've taken these things out so many times in the last week lol

thanks for this pic. Now I'm really confused tho. My Bosch projector above looks different than this pic. The reflective bowl is only on half the housing + the metal plate looks different as well. I wonder if I have a frankenstein'd set. Just curious which one I have since it still uses an H1 bulb.

problem solved! Friend of mine had a spare Bosch euro projector laying around, and just swapped it out.

Thanks again for everyone who posted here....it helped me figure out I was running the wrong one! Both sides work as they should now =)

This was the old one that wasn't giving me the light i needed for the smiley cutout.
