      ken is talking trig here

technically the high beams do have foci, they are just in the completely wrong spot with relation to the bulb.

I knew a guy that got them, he had to take a heat gun to them every night too keep the moisture out.

I actually like they way the look. They are clear, and shap looking. Not dull, and dirst/faded looking like a well worn set of euro's.

But, there is no way in hell I'm going to stand there with heat gun every time it gets a little moisture in them...

yeah, it pissed me off every time I washed my car.. didn't happen in the rain so much though. I should have saved the money and bought a set of new ellipsoids like I wanted to in the first place. oh well I ended up getting a killer deal on my new smoked hellas 2 years later :D

I've had my depos installed for approximately 4 weeks now....and no moisture, had a week of crazy rain here in the NYC area, washed the car twice, and nothing. Lights have the cool euro cutoff beam I've found on OEM HID setups and are world's better than stock.... to hell with the bandwagon "a friend of mine, or my father's mother's brother's nephews cousin's former roomate told me that they, their, his, her's, it's depos leak..." When these shatter from rock chips, i'll just spend another $100-150 and replace em and be on my way.

you are a moron. several of us had Depos long before you even knew what they were. the poor build quality is just one of their problems, the lighting quality isn't even close to real ellipsoids, which by today's projector standards really aren't all that hot either. go ahead and waste your money, in fact maybe you should check budget beater's thread to look for more bright ideas.

i'm a moron because I spent $150 on a pair of brand new lights on my beater instead of paying 200-400 for a set of the bosch euros....um yea, sure OK....

Fact is mine don't leak, are disposable to me if they crack/break, and give a better beam pattern than my 15yr old sealed beams. So whats the problem?

Just about every other post on this thread is nothing but heresay, "i heard/read/talked to a guy with depos and they leak, belong in the garbage blah"..... lots of you guys are quick to jump on the bandwagon of the Bosch Euro smilies. Sorry MR DEPO hater, I have better time/money to spend for this car instead of expensive used headlights, like suspension upgrades and actually driving it, keeping the miles off my other 3 cars and enjoying the 25+ MPG im getting from the M42 motor.

I had fun reading your retort.

Now, if I had a mint '88-91 E30 M3 which I intended to preserve in a garage and take out for the random BMWCCA concours shows, then i'd plunk down the change for the coveted headlights.

The quality of the depos on an E36 are far better than the equivalent E30 depos and actually worth the money if your looking for a cheap upgrade...please stop believing what people say on the internet and try them out in the real world for yourself, before spreading useless info...

I may be a n00b in regards to E30s and i'm here to make friends not enemies...the name calling was not necessary - esp from a moderator

I'm just trying to save people from wasting their money on garbage products that I have personal experience with - you don't seem to get that. So yeah, I'll call you a moron if I think you are, just because I'm a mod doesn't mean I don't have an opinion and I can't voice it.

Your pretty ignorant...so because you had bad experience with a product and someone else didnt, that makes me a moron. I've read of one other member who has depos that didn't leak, but in the end went the way of euro bosch units for whatever reason. Point is...the argument of depos leak=crap is BS, thats my point.

Seriously, you drive an automatic IX 4-dr...why am I wasting my time arguing with you.

wow, it cuts to the heart, it really does. am I supposed to reply that my automatic ix four door (no! not four doors!) would eat your car alive or something?

and you're basing your assumption on ONE guy who had them for a short time (and even you admit to only having them a month)? you're also glossing over the fact that the lighting quality isn't up to par (the highbeams are worthless for example) and other problems (cheap plastic makes the adjusters melt/crack). the leaking is just 5% of the overall issue here, but you are focusing soley on that.

waste your money, I really don't care. I for one would rather have spent $300 on real ellipsoids in the first place rather than $150 on depos plus $300 on the lights I ended up with.

dude, you're ignorant. you are talking shit to people and admit inexperience with a product that four weeks of ownership have made you a cock-gobbling expert on....

sit down, shut up, and listen to those more knowledgeable than your bitch ass.

you say if your Depos shatter, you'll spend another $150?!? why not spend the good $ on good headlights and protect them rather than run shitty low quality headlights and replace them or have to deal with bad lighting or leaks?

                                are you special ed?
