look in the plug theres an extra plastic notch compare that with the bulbs you have now, all you have to do is dremel off that extra notch so it will fit.

Do you have a link? ...because I don't believe you.

From what I understand, the Osram Silverstar is only available in H1, H4, and H7. They are not available in 9005/9006 sizes.

HIR 9011, ebay has them, a few other places has them.

            Standard Halogen
            9005: 1700 Lumens (highs)
            9006: 1000 Lumens (lows)

            HIR
            9011, or HIR1 (9005 replacement): 2300 Lumens (highs)
            9012, or HIR2 (9006 replacement): 1700 Lumens (lows)

            HIDs
9005/6: 3200+ lumens, but This is HIDs

I reccomend the HIR lamps, they aren't some kind of ebay JDM blue tint crap, but actually something that just never went into large scale production. they arent over watted to make more light, but make use of the wasted infrared light waves by using an infrared reflective coating that reflects infrared waves back at the filiment (hence a round bulb shape) to heat it up without using more energy.

You could easily modify the 9011 bulb and get 2300 lumens out of your low beams, which is a 1300 lumen increase over stock ellips' halogens, but there is a drawback; when you upgrade the lamps (modding highs to fit lows) the lamp life decreases. the standard life of a low beam bulb (9006) is about 1000 hours, and the standard life of a high beam bulb (9005) is about 350-400 hours. I gave up lamp life for better lighting, until i get my HID kit...

Oh and the HIR's price tag is a bit more pricey..about 55-60$ for a pair off ebay. Link Here.

I got all this info about these HIRs and how they work from Daniel Stern at http://www.danielsternlighting.com/

Me being the cheap ass i am i just didnt want to get HIDs, but i like light. I like to see things. My airsoft guns to my car, good lighting makes everyone happy.

Why would you pay that much when the site that I linked to (up, what, 3 posts?) sells them for $30 a pair. Plus it's a website that ships out quickly and you don't have to deal with ebay.

And your link shows $27 for the pair, plus the shipping. Not $60.

" 9011-HIR1 Bulb, 12V, 65W, Toshiba, each $27.95 " from the site you found netcsk.

Also, if you read the ebay ad, he clearly states somwhere on the bottom of his page that they are 27 each, not per pair. total comes out to be $59.

I was just giving another source, I didnt say you had to get them From ebay, but that is where i got mine from.

Ok, you guys are very confusing.

Can someone just write up something simple that goes something like this:

US Ellipsoids --- Order Osram Silverstars #9005, Quantity of 4
Euro Ellipsoids --- Order etc etc etc

                      Thanks!

                          Low level e30, simple.

Buy 2 of these http://www.rallylights.com/hella/9005.asp (last item on page, Halogen Infra Red 9005/HB3 Bulbs - 12V) for your low beams, modify and put them in and you will have the brightest lights that you can get, non-HID.

Buy 4 if you want to do the highbeams aswell.

I think these will be my next purchase once my current lows burn out. I just got some us ellips too. They are soo much better than sealed beams and they look pretty good with the sylvania silverstars that are installed.

                              Sorry, late to this thread...

when I had US ellips, I ran the 9011/9012 HIR bulbs and they are the real deal... highly recommended.

In fact, had I kept the US ellips, I would have cut the 9011 bulb mount a little differently and used in the low beam.

I've heard Good things about the HIR bulbs, and I found recently that you can get these bulbs for fairly cheap ($10-15 each). I guess it turns out John Deere uses these in some of their tractors and if you order them from a John deere dealer, they are much cheaper than ebay. The john deere part # is AH211917 and you can search for a dealer in your area on the john deere website:

These bulbs are for US ellips and I guess you just grind down a tab on the bulb housing and it will fit the low beams.

Here's where I found the info, hope this helps anybody looking for a cheap upgrade for their lights.
