    HIR Bulbs in Euro Smileys?

Hey R3V, hoping to get some quick clarification on something. I just ordered 9011/9012 HIR bulbs for my US ellipsoids, but realize I may have been a little hasty in doing so as I am also considering buying a set of Euro Smileys.

My question is, do they make HIR bulbs to replace the Euro H1 bulbs?

I assume the 9011/9012 don't fit as they are replacements for 9005/9006, correct?

How about brightness - are the HIR better than H1?

    Thanks!

For anyone who is interested, I asked Kenny at CandlePower this question and got this reply:

    Thank you for our inquiry.

HIR1 and HIR2 are names for specific bulbs that are also named 9011 and 9012, just like the H13 bulb is also know as the 9008. The numeric values are USA and Asia, whilst the alphanumeric values are European.

The best and brightest upgrade for the H1 is the Philips Xtreme Vision H1
    So, doesn't look like it

Based on my knowledge there are basically two options for H1 bulbs.
-HID. 4300K delivers maximum light output.
-High output bulb. Something like a Narva Rangepower or even the Philips bulb you mentioned.

Im not saying one is better than the other, but those would be my two choices.

Other items you can do to increase light output is to clean the light housings and make sure your lights are properly adjusted. After i installed the e90 top hats on my car, it gave the car a slight rake. This meant that the lights were now pointing more towards the ground. After adjusting the lights the range increased quite a bit. You might have already done these items, but they are commonly overlooked.

Ive only seen HIR bulbs on the internet, never in person. They sound good on paper, but i cant make any actual comments on them.

Clean (metal) housings plus high output bulbs throw plenty of light for anything but the Mulsanne. If you're displeased with the spread of the high beams, adjust them out and up a little.

HIR bulbs are not made in an H1 configuration. They're replacements for the U.S. Ellipsoid bulbs.

By the way, the Narva is the "store brand" of the Philips and I've been told they're effectively the same. I use them and they're great.
