How to protect fogs and headlights.......?

I waiting to receive my new Smoked Ellips headlights and I want to protect them from chips and rocks when I put them in, so my question to everyone is .......is there a transparent film I could put on the lenses to protect them? Does anyone currently use something like this?

    Thanks, George

I use 3m protective film on my e36 ellpisoids and fogs, very high quality, bought it from www.bavauto.com or you can try www.lamin-x.com they have nice pre cut rounds for e30's.

sweet, thanks guys.......is the stuff obviously noticeable when it's on your headlights? Doesn't hinder the look of the lights right?............

ryan, did you get your covers from bavauto? mine have 3 stupid holes around the edges for screws or something.. obviously not needed on ellipsoids. I'm just afraid they'll look lame with the holes if I put them on.

Mine have the half moon cuts like you describe. You cant see them unless you get really close.

Lamin-X makes pre-cuts for european lamps without the alignment nipples...

                        Lamin-X installed:
                        James Peacock

what are the lamin-x kits made from? the bavauto is high quality 3M stuff.

My beef with lamin-x is that it's not as thick as the 3m stuff, I have 3m on my e36's headlights and lamin-x on the fogs in yellow, I'd go with 3m if you just want clear tape, it's higher quality.
