I need a really good close up shot of smoked ellipsoids

can anyone help me out? I'm working on my broken set and I want to see how exactly the high beam is done as well as how the city light area is on the smoked vs clear. thanks!

btw getting all the old broken glass out is dangerous!

heh, anyone got an idea how I can bust out the glass on my other lense? I used a screwdriver and a 1lb deadblow hammer square in the center of the lense and it won't even scratch it. :(

Why don't you heat it up in the oven and then pry the entire lens off?

I tried that, it didn't really do anything. this glue is pretty tough.

I was thinking of trying boiling water or something.

well I got the high beams off really easy in boiling water.. but the low beams have a plastic surround with a textured glue surface, the high beams are painted metal so the glue came off easily. I'm going to try freezing the low beam and dropping it in boiling water to get it to crack, then I can chip it out.

Don't break the lenes due to they are not the smoked part. It's an optical trick done with baffles.

PM me later in day Nando too.

                  I know the lenses aren't smoked :)

The lights came with one broken low and one broken high. new lenses come in pairs, so I don't care if I break them. I just gotta get them out without destroying the housing :P

edit: freezing them and putting them in boiling water worked! I heard a nice "crack" when I put them in the water.. no visible damage, but a couple wacks with a screwdriver and I had a nice hole to work with. Too bad I already broke off some of the outer flange of the lense mount trying to pry it off earlier.. oh well. :)

now I just gotta paint the low beam reflectors and make the X shapes for the high beams..

Yeah that is an OOOLLLDD pic. That was before my wreck, those are sorta RIP. Another member bought them and rescued them (the bavauto covers protected the lense but the plastic buckets were fubar).
