    High beam/fog light fuses keep blowing

    A little while ago my high beams/fogs stopped working, so I checked the fuses and they were blown. I went out and bought new fuses and they blew after about half a second of light. What would cause both high beams, and both fog lights fuses to blow like that?

    what fuse numbers?
    do they both blow at the same time?
    is it when you switch the high beams on? or do you need the fogs on too?
    do the low beams still work?
    have you made sure the relays are positioned correctly?

      Low beams work fine. The highs blow only when you turn them on, I think it's the same for the fogs. The only thing on the fuses that blow are the high beams or foglights. (L high beam, R high beam, L fog light, R fog light.)

        Oh, and the relays are positioned correctly as far as I know (everything worked before and I don't recall switching them around). I'll look into that though.

          i think I have the same problem. I keep blowing fuse 1 & 2 when I have the highs on.

            Bumping this thread up. I'm having a hard time finding good solid info about which relays are which. The info in the bentley conflicts with some things that I've read online, and I still don't know what's causing all these fuses to blow.

              Well, first, here you can see the wiring layout, I know you must have the relays right, so try checking the wiring. If you check closely you will find the fuses and their amps values.

              First try checking if you have a short, turn your high beams on and hook an ammeter instead of the fuse so you can read the power flowing through the line, that value should be less than the value in amps of the fuse, if you replace the fuse for another of higher value this could solve the problem, but be careful, if you go too high you might overheat the wires, maybe even melt them.

              If the value is too high you might have a short.

              If your value is correct, then you can blame the relay.

                      How high should I go though? They're all supposed to be 7.5 amps, so should I try a 10 or 15? Is this safe to do?

                        Dont look further than a fuse problem.
                        7.5 isnt enough for H1's
                        10 will do the trick. 15 is perfectly fine too.

                          I've got H4/H1 up front for a while. It worked totally fine for months until all of a sudden they just blew? What about the fog lights, can they run a 10 or 15 amp as well? The fog lights are stock as far as I know.
