    smoked tails(yes another post)

    i know there are a lot of posts on smoked tails and yes i used the search...
    but this one DIY site http://e30.bmwdiy.info/red-tails/index.html only has red tails and i wanna smoke mine so what kind of paint did you guys use to do your smoked tails?

    The Tamiya Window Tint works fine as long as you go easy on it. My friend did it on his E36 tails and had quite a few problems with runs, but he applied it really heavily. Just go easy on it, and apply a few coats of clear over top of it when you're all done.

      This is a 3 oz. (85 g) can of Clear Transparent Black Window Tint Enamel Spray Paint.


      and do i have to put a clear coat on after?

        sort of, but pactra makes a lexan tint spray that will work better, and it should also be at hobbytown.

          Yes, you'll need to put clear coat over it.

                i got a red e30 and was also thinking of doing smoked tail lights but was not sure how it would turn out so if you do it please show a picture so i can decide if i want to or not :)
