Its been raining the past week here and somehow there is water in my ellip. I dont know how the hell it got there but i need to get it out. how can i do this and how do you think the water is getting in???? thanks
Ian
How old are your lights? Are the pitted at all? if they are OE Hella or Bosch, I doubt its because they aren't sealed well and it is because of a tiny chip or crack. Moisture can get into them while driving in rain. the condensation will go away when it dries but it will keep getting worse. You can try something like Lamin-X but you will probably have to change out the lens. I need to do my E34 because of this but I keep putting it off since it dries out on its own in a day or two.
I agree with checking the light for any cracks. I know that's the fate of my sealed beams. Last year when I was driving up to WA for the PNW Picnic I took a fat rock to my pass side low beam and it's been slowly filling up ever since whenever it rains. About half way to the bulb now :) lol...
damn halfway?? haha. can you take off the lens to get the water out or do you have to wait til it dries on its own??
If you've actually got got standing water and not just condensation you can just pour it out once you take out the bulb and remove the light from the car .
Once you pull both light assemblies from the car you can just dump out the water and then use a hair drier to get rid of the condensation and remaining moisture .

You can also get moisture/water in from the projector housing gasket, (it deteriorates) and if you didnt put the rear cap on correctly.
