    Fog Light & Ellipisoid Lenses

    Hey,

One of my fog lights have a cracked lense, and one ellpisoid lens is broken. Does anyone know a good place to buy lens. I should maybe upgrade smoked lenses while Im at it. I could also use some turn signals. Anyone know a good place for cheap?

    Thanks.

there is no such thing as a smoked foglight lense, unless you spray paint it or use tint film (both of which are a stupid idea).

you can get plastic lense replacements on ebay (mrlense), but I'd rather have a new (or good used) set and put some 3M film on them for rock protection.

do those 3m smoked films significantly decrease the lighting?

Enough that it would be unsafe to put them on your headlights. I have the lamin-x smoked film over my turns and parking lights and turn signals. It decreases the light output by 35%

the stock late model foglights aren't that bright to begin with.. why on earth you'd want to make them worse is beyond me. besides that, they already look "smoked" from the factory, unless your lenses are badly sandblasted.

I'd say it's way more than the 35% they claim. Maybe 60% or so.

Oh, and new fogs already matched smoked ellips. Here's a pic of the ones I just put in compared to the old ones. As you can see, they look plenty dark.

im weary getting plastic lens replacements. Who would sell the real ones? Seems to me like bmw and the parts dealers would only sell the entire light assembly. I need only one fog lens and one high beam lens.

the late model foglights DO make a difference. They help light up the side of the road, and really help the general lighting of the car. If you find that your fog lights do not do much, they are incorrectly aimed, are dirty, or the housings need to be cleaned and the chrome on the inside needs to be polished.

Yeah, my fogs make a HUGE lighting difference now. The old sandblasted ones were useless.

Do you like the lamin-x smoking flim? I want to smoke my fronts and sides, and I don't want to pay like 70 dollars for new assemblies. How dark are they?

I have Lamin-x on my signals and sidemarkers. They makle them look pitch black, even in the daylight.
