I have H4/H1s, and the system is wired properly, and it kept blowing 7.5A fuses. I could have sworn 5006 sealed beam lows are 35W, 5001 sealed beam highs are 50W?

I have 55w H1s in my Euro ellipsoids and the 7.5A low-beam fuses are working just fine. I really can't think of any reason a 60/55 bulb would blow a fuse unless there is something causing a current spike, like corroded contacts. I'm not denying that it's happening - just that I can't think of any good reason for it. At 60w, a bulb is only pulling 5A anyway. Plenty of excess fuse capacity.

Are your headlights wired "highs on, lows off"? I am talking about the high beam fuses getting blown when the combined power requirement is 115W.

I have attached the fusebox/headlight diagram of a 1989 E30. As you can see, only the low beams are powered off Fuse 13, and only the high beam is powered off Fuse 1.
