How are you guys going about retrofitting HID's? Are you using them off other cars? or a kit?

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.

I just bought new kits. Prolumen in the lows and Apexcone in the fogs on mine.

Ive got 6k ones in my low beam projectors..

I hate them.. 90% of my driving time (commute) is in the dark.. they just aren't bright enough for me, especially in the rain...

I had 4300k in my Subaru, and they were fine, albeit no projectors, just in the stock housings..

bought them on ebay, for 59$.. plug-n-play, took literally 3 minutes to install..

I hate Cali, that kind of stuff disgusts me. Who made these laws up? Did you ever vote on them? I don't understand it at all.

I think so. I don't believe they made a 55watt yellow bulb when I looked.

5000k slim ballast (35w i think) through euro projectors

this is the one with a good reflector

this is the one with a bad reflector (showing you this so you know that even with HIDs if your headlights are in bad shape they too are useless)

I just ordered a set of yellow HID bulbs, to try as a replacement for my 6kKs..

If I adjust my projectors high enough to be useful on the road, then they blind oncomers.
If they're low enough to not blind oncomers, then I can't see shit beyond about 50-60ft in front of the car. I just think they're too "blue", which is NOT what I wanted. I didn't think "diamond white" actually meant "blue"..

sounds like your reflectors are trashed. i have 35watt 5k prolumens in my wifes car with us elips and we have no issues and can see for days. its unfortunate that everyone has a different idea of what kelvin should be what color.

they were pretty good with the halogens.. I think it's mostly because they are so blue.. way more blue than "described".. ;)
My elips, by visual inspection, are actually really nice looking.. Inside, I can tell, obviously, but everything visible is in really good condition.

Great stuff. I would love to see some more cutoff pictures with the US and Euro Ellipsoids.
I'm interested to see how wide the beam is from say 20-25 ft away.
                                Thanks.
