    Brake Lights on...

So i just installed euro trim and now my brake lights are staying on. I cut the existing side markers and used heat shrink tubing on the ends. Do i just need to complete the circuit or is this just totally unrelated?

Any suggestions would be helpful because CHP pulled me over but the dood was nice and didnt give me a ticket. Next time im guessing i wont be lucky, plus getting read ended doesnt sound fun either.

well if cutting the wires caused your problem then I would connect the plugs back up.
I installed euro trim on my e30 and just pulled the bulbs and packed the ends with vasaline.

See im not totally sure it happened when i cut the wires. Thats just the only thing i did recently. Guess i need to pull the bumpers this weekend.

you dont have to pull the bumpers.
since you already cut the ends off pull the rear ones in through the trunk. The front you should be able to reach from under the hood.
another thing if you dont think its that then look under your dash and on the brake pedal there is a button that touches it. Maybe the bracket bent for some reason.
that switch could have went bad too.

Pull out the knee bolster and check the brake switch first, it's the simplest and most likely source of your issue.

you may need to buy a new break switch or adjust your break pedal

                    "Break?"

Maybe he needs a new pedal stop to reduce the brake pedal travel?

Of course some silver Krylon might get that switch working like new...

So you adjusted the pedal rather than the flimsy, easily adjustable piece of sheet metal that holds the switch? Did you paint everything while you were in there?
