          1) don't have the money for euro ellips right now

          2) i have two h4 euro osram that are in good shape that i feel like using and seeing how i like them (came with the assembly that broke)

          3) H4's are dual filament.. wouldn't they be brighter then h1's?

          4) thoguht it might be interesting to sport some city lights where it shines from below, as opposed to the top, like euro smileys.

H4s only have one filament burning at a time. One's a low beam, the other is a high beam filament.

Just get Hella lowbeams and if need be get the citylight inserts for them later. The citylights on those lenses look nothing like the European ellips. Thye light the whole lense so it just looks like a DRL is on.

The H4s are plenty capable for the money. I rocked them before I could afford the Euros.

                Both p0wnz sealed beams.
                Im now E30less.

where can i find said lowbeam inserts?

i'm hoping to be able to get a set of hella H4's with SOME type of city light setup, for under 100$ or so.. though i may be dreaming. Also, where did you wire your city lights up to?

one way is to wire em up to your sidemarkers, so whenever your parking lights are on, your city lights are on.

that's how most people do it. I spent $2 on some wire splices and connected them in about 5 minutes. I should have done the same thing with the highs/lows, but for some reason I thought it would be better to clip off the sealed beam connectors (I guess so I would never be able to use them again, haha).
