    To much HID

    Well i have some cash floating around.. (as in the M20 is currently Running) and i was looking into setting it up with HID's... all around... like
    High, low, and fogs,

    BUT i just wanted to confirm sizing on these bulbs, and to my best (drunken) effort i cant find a definitive post... so let me run this by you

    Low = H1
    high = H4
    fog = H3
    right?

    Now moving on from that... the car started with sealed and is now running Hella smileys... is there a write up about

    1. how to convert but still have low beams running when you throw on the high beams

    and

    2. where is that damn write up about soldering that relay so the fogs arent affected by the high/low

    To each their own, but I don't see the purpose of having HID's in your high beams, low beams, and foglights. I see this turning out very JDM-esque.

    Euro smiley light output is perfectly adequate IMO, if it were me, I'd focus my money elsewhere.

    But, you are correct about H1: low beam and H4: high beams.

      Here is the answer to both.

      However, I would not suggest running HID highbeams as you "can" no longer flash them. I would only go for the lows and fogs and spend some of that extra cash on nice highbeam bulbs.

        If you are going to use smileis, they take H1's in the lows and highs.

          hids in the highs just are not practical. by the time the ballast warms up youve turned the highs off already (usually). in a flash to pass situation, forget about em. ive noticed that sealed beam cars need hid kits with ignitors, seem to work better.

            Yes this is correct. I would hate to hear that someone bought a H4 HID kit only not to use it.

              my idea for highbeams is one hid one halogen, halogen on with pull of stalk both on with push of stalk
