But is it bright?! That's all that matters IMHO.

I've always used the POS ebay kits ($50) and never had any problems. Proper install = long lasting HIDs.

I take it back, with one company I used... the ballasts were unusually loud and had a shitty hum to them. They lasted 2 years though until I sold the car they were on.

Had DDM full sized ballast 55w 6k's for nearly three months and the light output is phenomenal compared to my sealed beam halogens. It is a very bright white with a slightly bluish tint, but nothing over the top.

I would definitely recommend them for any HID needs, and with bulbs only being 30 bucks a pop, I'll be trying some other color combo's in the near future.

It's like skittles, you gotta taste the rainbow.

Prolumen. I am really happy with the lights and service.

I just ordered a set of 35w 5000K DDMs. The guy is bringing them up from socal to norcal where I live this weekend so I won't need to pay shipping. However, I am debating whether or not I should have gone with the 55w instead. I was told that most HID kits nowadays are 35w, but since the us ellips I just picked up are 20 years old, I thought maybe 55w would be a better fit. Any suggestions?

I would go with the 55w simply because the reason is "why not?" The price difference is 15 bucks I think, and the light output compared to my friends 35w is noticeably different(it's much brighter)
