Euro Smilies & DDM HID kit ... help

I got myself a set of Euro (Hella) smillies a couple of weeks ago and I went ahead and order a 5000k H1 DDM HID kit. I just got the kit a couple of days ago and from what I can tell, there is no way in hell the bulbs will actually fit in the bulb socket itself. I know I have to drill out a hole from the protective cover to pass the wires and such, but by testing the placement of the HID bulb, it doesn't sit right.

I know what an H1 bulb looks like, but is this the right HID bulb for it? Or am I just not doing something right?

    Cheers

I just checked it once more and nothing, there are two tabs sticking out right around the bulb socket that prevent the HID bulb from sitting properly (sticks out about 1/4 inch) ....

Another thing I just noticed, which shows that i am an idiot, on the back of the bulb it actually says "HID H7" ... so I guess DDM will be getting a call from me tomorrow morning.

Yeah, you still have to drill out and seal the caps.

Same here, except with bosch euro ellipsoids. Once you drill out the cover, and get the correct bulbs, everything will sit nicely.

There's a DDM subforum on bf.c that I posted in, perhaps post up there too?

Why wouldn't an H1 HID bulb fit in an H1 housing?
I don't understand why you have to drill..?

You need to be able to let the wires come out of the housing...

Definitely take some pics of your install & keep us informed of the Customer Service from DDM. I read an announcement that they were going to be dropping prices on their HID kits again, but after reading this thread it makes me wonder if it's worth the gamble...
