    Another HID Question

    ************************************************** ***********************

Ok, so now what I wan't to know is, can I achieve the same light effect of an H1 6000k bulb with a 9006 bulb. And is it possible to get an HID 9006 bulb that will fit in US ellipsoids?

Yeah but you don't really need HID's in the high beams, given that they aren't really used that much. That's sort of a waste don't you think? Besides, HID's need a few seconds to 'warm up' and the ballasts probably won't like short On/Off bursts if you decide to flash your high beams.

True. So what should I run in my highs?

regular halogens should do the job ... many brands out there, just depends on how much you're willing to pay for a set of bulbs (sylvania makes some decent ones).

        cheers ...

H 9005 halogens, you have some wiring work ahead of you as well if you are switching from sealed beams to ellipsoids.

I have plug and play connectors as well as an older brother very well trained in the art of working on BMW's. :D

Would these do the job just fine?

Real quick, what bulb type do the US Ellipsoids use? Thanks.

But a lot of people run HID's in the lows and the 9005's in highs.

i wouldnt use HIDs in the high beams. You may burn them out quicker since you don't give them enough time to warm up unless you plan on having the high beams off for a while each time you use em

Euro and US Ellips use 2 different bulb types. As stated a few times in this thread, US Ellips use a 9006 low & 9005 high, and a Euro Ellips uses H1 for low and high.

So if you bought bulbs for Euro Ellips, they will not work in US Ellipsoids.
