Continental/VDO TR7412UB-OR Head Unit Shutting Off with Load

    Hey R3V-

I pulled the Continental radio out of a car to put in another car. Wired it up per normal method (non common ground wiring), and the head unit shuts off under load.

Things I've done, and things to note:

-Unit was 100% working in my other car
-I ohm'd out all of my speakers. They all measure from 3.5-4ohms.
-I am not using an antenna harness in this car (this means blue wire off radio goes to nothing). Does the lack of ground on the antenna somehow also ground the radio in a second place?
-I hooked up speakers one by one, the only speaker that wouldn't cause the head unit to shut off was a non premium sound stock e30 speaker.

I don't really know what's going on with it, and it's extremely frustrating, as it's for a car that has already robbed me of hundreds of hours. I can't imagine the head unit's amp randomly failed on a barely used head unit that was transferred from one car to another.

    halp
