Updates on the headlights... They're all done. They were so perfect that I decided to replace the fogs, bc they didn't look as pretty...
Here are the full details of the headlights:
- New, old stock Hella Euro smileys sourced from https://www.instagram.com/bavariansteeringwheels/
- Morimoto Bi-LED headlights from Lightwerkz in NJ:
BRACKETS HAVE A 1 WEEK LEAD TIME Cream of the crop. The Morimoto MLED 2.0 bi-led projector is as good as it gets. These use an all new adapter that simplifies installation, reduces the number of areas for moisture intrusion, and gives you an all around cleaner look. Installation is a breeze and everything is included t
- I had Lightwerkz do the installation as well. I delivered them my lights in person, and they shipped them back 2 weeks later when finished. They made a youtube video of the install:
A few notes:
- Since the outer light is now a bi-LED (ie the shutter opens to be a high beam), the inner light doesn’t really serve much purpose… You can still wire them up though. I decided to add a matching H1 LED bulb for the inner lights and also matching H3 LED bulb for the fog lights.
High beam (no-projector) H1 LED:
Introducing the SL2 LED Bulb!. As a replacement for our popular SLF bulb the SL2 features a number of upgrades including a more compact design internal driver and improved reliability. The all-new SL2 LED bulb is a direct plug-and-play replacement providing a significant upgrade in performance. Optimized Optical Focus.
Fog light H3 LED:

Low beam only:
Dual high beams (bi-LED on right, H1 LED on left)

Picked the interior up today from Prestige Auto Upholstery in CT, and dropped them off at Sound in Motion for the install (where the rest of the car is)! Should have the car back soon! These look incredible in person. So excited to get them into the e30. The peanut butter natural brown leather with white stitching will look amazing in the white e30.

Update on the interior... Should be another few days now!
Comparison vs old door cards. e46 natural brown (with white stitching) on top v 30+ year old faded e30 beige.
All interior panels are wrapped in leather with white stitching:
more detail work...

Great looking car! Love all the audio updates. Curious to see the light install. I’ve dropped in PrecisionLEDs, but these cars are very temperamental with adding LED bulbs.Leave a comment:
