This is one of my options for te sub install in my current build (fitting 6x9's in the doors). I have three options
    1. Eclipse 12" in a 2.9 cuft ported
    2. Redo the 3 10" mtx 12ohm subs - the most awesome unbeleivable subs in the world;))
    3. 2 alumapro 10" - one on each side in the rear side cards.

Right now the goal is the 2 alumapro's.

To stay on topic, I agree that it's a waste of time to pursue anything under the seats. If the floor had been totally flat from front footwell to rear footwell there might have been some real space to do something, but the rise Unser the seat diminishes this tto much.
I believe the rear side cards is a great place or some subs and could work well in a vert.
I hope that when the time comes to start working on my subs that I can run a couple test fits in a vert to see if the process translates well to verts.

I'll start the process this weekend if someone wants to donate enough fg may and resin to do both sides - my money tree is all dried up.

Edit** It did post. The site would not show me the second page of the post??. Oh well, I added a couple things anyway.

For some reason my post is not showing up, so if this is a repost then I apologize. I shot out a short post on the iPhone and it didn't take for whatever reason - could never have been Apple's fault:).

Sure, I would be happy to post some pics. I have a couple options on subwoofers for my current install (6x9's in the door).
      1. Eclipse 12" 4ohm SVC in a 2.9 cuft ported box in the trunk - Luke Style!
      2. 3 MTX THUNDER 6000 10" !!!!! (12 ohm) (the MOST AWESOME SUBS....EVER!!:) My Current installed box. 1.4 cuft (kinda boomy??) - redo into 3 cuft sealed firing up at rear deck.
      3. 2 Alumapro Alusonics in the rear side card.

My goal is to install the Alumapro's.

To get back on topic. I agree with most that trying to get anything under the seat that is going to sound anything like a subwoofer is basically a waste of time. Good idea, but BMW did not give a good hand on this one. If the floor was flat from the front foot well to the rear foot well...THEN, something might have worked. But the rise in the floor as it goes under the seat just eliminates too much space.

I think that the rear side cards are an excellent place for some subs. I think this may be the best place for the vert. I hope to have an opportunity to test fit my boxes in a vert when I get a chance to start this part of the build. One thing is thefts in a vert, so it may be something to consider not to have it stick out too far and really look like there is that nice IDQ sitting in there.

I was thinking that Exile has a 10" shallow sub. XT 10 Its specs call for something between .35 and .6 cuft the larger getting better SQ. Its 3.5" deep. An installer named Bing that runs a business called Simplicity in Sound does some fabulous installs (DIYMOBILEAUDIO.COM) and recently installed a couple of these in a Subi. He was surprised by their performance. And with Lukes's connections with Exile (IIRC), maybe this could turn into something good for the vert guys.

Sorry if this was a repost, but I'm not seeing my previous post about this.

I took a chance and put this in my Suburban under the front seat. It just sounds like a decent stock system w/sub. It's not great by any means, but it's cheap and sounds decent. Exactly what i was going for in the burb.
