    M3 Antenna

So who's actually done the M3 roof mount antenna mod and can tell me what needs to be done to install this?

I'm well aware of the Z3 antenna mod, doing that on the wife's car, but I'm pretty set on the M3 for my car.

My car came with it done already by the PO. His user name is 02stu. He did a really good job.

Well you've gotta drill a small hole, remove the roof panel to install and run the wiring around the windshield and down to the radio. Had a friend who did it to his 85 back in the day. Looked good. Supposed to work better too.

Didn't find it listed--can you have him reply to this then?

carefully mark your and drill your hole. i guessed center and put blue painters tape on the roof. then i finalized my measurements and marked on the blue tape. i used a 1/8 drill bit for the pilot hole then went up to the appropriate size. you need to remove the visor panel and i found it easier to drop the sunroof motor. install the antenna and run the wire down behind the drivers side a pillar trim and under the dash to the back of the radio.

dont tighten the nut too much, it will buckle the roof section.
