    e30 phone questions

    so i went to the junk yard today to find a k4 relay, as i was searching thru cars i found an e30 phone, or a phone in an e30 haha. I was wondering if you guys could help me out, atleast the ones who have the phones in their cars. Ok, I took everything that came with the phone system out of the car, i had to rip apart the carpet to get to the wires. Anyways I dont know where some of these wires connect to and there are some wires that look like they were cut and I did not see anything that they connected to. Here we go with the pics:
    1. im guessing this is the actual module/antenna:

    2. This looks like a ground wire or the power supply wire, I have it connected to the device but I dont know where to hook the other end up to in the car.... anyone know?

    3. this is the back of the device where all the other wires/phone lines plugs into:

    4.This is the adapter or resting station for the phone idk what to call it:

    5. phone adapter again, you can see where the phone lines plugs in to it, actually its more of an ethernet looking hook up, because if you look on the left side you can see the phone line hook up. You can also see the mic is plugged in.

    This is where i get confused
    6. colored harness coming from the back of the module, looks like all 4 of thewires have been cut and i dont know what they are supposed to connect to:

    these red/orange wires are very long and went from the module under the back seat to underneath the dash where the steering wheel is, what could have been in there that they were connected to?

    These 2 shorter ones went from the module to where the center consule is where the phone hooks up (think heated seat button area). What could these wires have been connected to?

    I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out! Thank you so much!

    Oh and get this, I got this whole setup and an entire manual/book cover (gray leather one) with the warranty stuff, radio manual, roadside assistance paperwork etc. for only $8

              It won't work, it will just be in your car for aesthetic purposes.

                    I bet there is plenty of room in that handset to install the inards of a modern cell phone, the cord could go to a 12v DC supply and charge the phone...one of those old Nokia numbers that looked like a brick might be a good candidate. ....do it and then make a DIY.

                      just going w/ normal color cable identification here, take w/ a grain of salt.....

                      red=12v constant
                      black=ground
                      brown=PROLLY another ground
                      orange=PROLLY for ignition signal

                      is there any identification or label on the "brain" of the car phone?

                        this is on the back of the module. I think i am missing the aerial/antenna that the black tube looking wire goes into.....

                          wow. i am loling right now because of how silly this is. i hope you can actually reconstruct an e30 car phone... maybe mod it to accept a SIM card. that would be sweet.

                            on my friends vert with stock car phone setup, the antenna for it is a small one on the passenger A-pillar. why do you want this taking up space in your car?

                              Brown is horn trigger, so your car honks when you get a call while you are out of the car.
