    Quick SI board question...

Below are some pictures of my now defunct SI board, I was wondering if this is the board that needs to be completely replaced or if I can just replace the batteries themselves. I found the batteries (Sanyo CR14250SE lithiums, for sale here) online, can these be soldered in? I'd like not to replace the entire board, but if I have to, am I better off buying one brand new or would a working used one suffice?

    TIA.

Have you inspected both sides of the board to make sure you don't have any traces or components that are burnt? You'll have to solder them out, sometimes those boards have a small "daughterboard" where the battery back is, shows that it was already serviced and batteries replaced. Your's does not.

I have two more motometer boards that I am going to test in the next few days before I put them up for sale.

Yeah, I may just replace the board if either of yours is a known working board. I had heard that some E30's had SI board that had replacable batteries, I was just wondering if this was one of them (or if I have to replace the entire board itself, which is what I'm leaning towards.)
