Help please! Cd deck wiring and fuse box

I am trying to wire my cd deck up. I cant figure out for some reason which wire is power and which one should go to my illumination wire ( yellow). Please help me out on which stock wires should be going to those.

Also my Haynes manual does not show which fuses are which. Shows a picture of my engine bay with a diagram that should be in my engine bay but no longer is not.

    The car is a 1986 bmw 325.

    Thanks for any replies!

A search should bring up a wiring diagram as this is a commonly asked question.

Thanks disaster. Sadly im horrible at the wiring diagrams and they dont make much sense to me. Looked through that a couple times.

Could someone provide the color of the power and illumination wire??? Thats what i need.

If you download that wiring diagram book, look under "power distribution box" and scroll down a page or three, there is a fuse list.

Oh!. Sorry for my laziness thanks stereoinstaller.

And if it helps anyone i found out that the power wire is green/red. I ended up wiring power and illumination(yellow/battery) to that same wire cause i never figured out which one the (yellow/battery) should be to.

Yellow on your deck is NOT illumination.

Yellow is constant power, to retain memory.

Red/Green turns yellow at the deck: goes to yellow on your aftermarket deck.

If you are retaining memory, you must have found it.

ACC (Red on your deck) goes to VI/GY

I highly suggest you buy a test light. You can get them for like $3 and the answer to your question could have been found in minutes.
