    Superultrahippo's mini audio build

Not really a build actually, just a sub/amp but whatevers.

..got my box from Luke Friday. The rest of my equipment came in today so I figured I'd get a head start on everything. Equipment is as follows..(I was on a budget!)

Alpine CDA-105 (running all 4 speakers from fader)
MB Quart RAB 1450 Mono AMP
    Kenwood KFC-W2512 4ohm sub
    10' box from luke
    e2 E400 Amp wiring kit (20 bucks..read good reviews)

As I got home this huge box was awaiting for me. And yes, i giggled like a schoolgirl..

    ..upon further investigation

Then proceeded to make the backpanel from lukes template and carpet. I was going to op for 1/8 hardboard but seemed really flimsy. Ended up getting 1/4 thick for about 5 bucks from home depot.

Shit, how am I going to cut this out? Well it was either cough up 30+ bucks for a cheap jig saw or macgyver my way out of this hiccup. Ah yes I have a DREMEL! Trip to the hardware store and I found a wood bit.. god help me.

After causing tonz of noise ..not bad eh?

All done.. I used 3M adhesive spray for the carpet. Got rather light headed but it came out rather nice.

Well hello there.. dont mind if I do.

Anyways.. suggestions on how I should mount the amp? Cant really decide. Also wanted to know where I should drill for the sub wiring? ..other than convenience, does it really matter? Thoughts on equipment? ..I went of pricing and reviews mostly.

You cut that with a DREMEL?

You are nucking futz, man...carry on.

Would you take some incredibly detailed shots of the amp? From what I can tell, it is the same manufacturer as the Titanium Power I sell. What did you pay for it?

    Closing SOON!

Shoud do fine mounting it there - maybe a little higher so things don't roll into it and scratch the amp.
If its small enough you could put it over in the area above the jack in the trunk. or over the battery.
Drill the box on whatever side of the trunk that you mount the amp. If in the middle then on the side that the speaker wires attach to the amp.

Oh yeah...I am tripping on how quick you got that. Everyone else will be in a day or three, except the one that went to Germany.

What carpet did you use & how does it match up with the stock grey trunk material?

I'm excited to get mine, but won't be installing it until I can keep thieving scum away.

Oh shit, thats right...it is time for the alarm build!

Soon as I get the water leaks in my E30 and James' E28 finished, I am on that.

Might be sending yours out before the rest...you is desperate!

Alright.. I got everything wraped up however the sup wont fire. Im not sure if it was to do with the HU settings or the AMP. The amp itself turns on (power led green) however I get nothing from the sub. I did notice I have a factory amp while the tear down..anything to do with it? My 4 speakers play just no sub. I did also notice the variable knob adjustment has a "power" led which remains off. Checked my connections from sub-amp = ok. I wired stripes to negative... soilids to +. I also wired from my amp on the 1st positive terminal, skipped the 2nd positive terminal and hooked up to 1st negative terminal)from left to right) ..any help? It has to be something retarded.

                        Check sub level on CDA105!

                        Tap your volume knob.

Look for SUB VOL or whatever they call it, NOT "Bass Level".

Checked settings. I found Sub level- turned it to 10, nothing.
Also found subwoofer system 1 and system 2. selected system 1.
There was also Subwoofer on/off. Checked on. Still nothing.

Find it weird how my amp "bass control" will not power on. LED remains off.

Wait....if you are bridging the amp, shouldn't you be wiring it:

                              this way:
                              x_____x
                              + + - -

                              not this way:

                              x___x__
                              + + - -
