Hooking up subs to my headunit.

Ok I have a 300 watt 4 channel amp running my 4 infinity refrence speakers in the car but I had to use Y-connectors to run my RCA cables since my headunit only has to outputs. Now If I wanted to hookup another amp that would be connected to subs how woul I go about doing this would I have to get another Y- connector. I don't really want to buy a new headunit right now with mroe outs since theres alot mreo important things I'd liek to invest in but I need to know If I can even run another amp into my shitty 2 output pioneer.

my last head unit which was a pioneer had two out puts also. they were for the subwoofer though. you should make sure you didnt hook the 4 infinity speakers to the sub output. Does the head unit have a wiring harness with purple, white, gray, and green(four channels to run front and rear speakers) wire sets? if so you can hook up another amp. You'll have to cut the connectors off of one side of the RCA cable/s and splice them to the corresponding channels to do it, then plug the end with the remaining connector/s into the amp. hope this helps.

Jesus Christ... don't listen to that moron.

You're going to have to split the RCA pre-outs again to another amp.

It will be running once the damn cam coems in the mail. I wasn't gonna listen to deadzoner cause it specifically says on the stereos and wiring kit not to wire your speakers into RCA's

                            OK, so let me suggest...
First, you CAN safely wire speaker outputs directly into RCA (line level) inputs, with only a tiny bit of magic involved, but let us not go there, OK?

bkelsey86, here is what you should check for first...does your amp have ANY switches that say anything like "INPUT MODE" or similar? Does it have 3 sets (6 total) RCA jacks? IF, failing that, do you live near a pawn shop?

Hit me back with a model number of your amp. I always recommend people run 3 sets of RCA's back, just so you dont have to re-do it later.
