i have a 10 inch Kicker Comp 8OHM sub.. dont know what DVC is... its a 250W Phoenix Golg Amp.. its on.. i have no idea what 'cross-talk' is.. like i said.. im a total n00b

well... i got the sub/box for free.. so i wasn't complaining the amp is a Phoenix Gold Octane-R 2.5:2
specs on the Amp
• 2 channel power amplifier
• 12dB HP/LP fixed crossovers
• Full range aux output
• Dimensions: 8.75L x 10.875W x 2.25H
80W x 2(4 ohm stereo)

I took some pics too... an i saw the 4 things sticking out.. look to be preouts... shit.. in my amp wiring kit it didnt have any RCA adapters.. its just called the remote wire the RCA

All right, the RCA cables are the ones with the plugs, the same kind that you use to connect things like Playstations, DVD players, Nintendos, etc to a TV. All you need to do is hook up the RCA and the remote wire to the head unit and run them back to the sub amp. The sub amp then just has speaker wires connecting the sub to it. Here is my expert diagram:
I retired my E30 for now...

Well, we all start somewhere. I know of a few people who think they know everything before they even know anything.
As for you not knowing what DVC is, it stands for dual voice coil. Without going into too much detail, you'll know it when you see it because it has two positive and two negative terminals instead of just one + and - like your woofer has. It can be wired in multiple combinations for flexibility, whereas SVC is a little limited.I retired my E30 for now...
