    Maplight mirror bulb?

I went to Kragen and Autozone today and both places didn't have any and couldn't look anything up. I swear I've bought a pair of these before, but I don't remember where..

Search revealed an old thread that doesn't work anymore?

What type of bulb is it?

    63-31-1-375-003 Map light, listed as 12V 10W $15.58/$11.68
    marked 64111 Osram 12V 5W W771
    64111 5W BA9S Halogen lamp OS-111/05 T2.75 80.42 lumens

The lamp is mounted to use the light from the side, rather than from the end. I wasn't able to find a white LED substitute with the LED mounted in the correct orientation.

I finally ended up buying a handful at the boneyard, pulled from e36 map lights, for... $1. The same as they charge for a sealed beam.

Yeah, I was trying to avoid going to the dealer to pay $10+ for each small bulb!

I am going to try a couple more stores locally, and then ebay.

      These might work:

They look like the right type, and a great deal at $10 for 5.

Here are the ebay 64111 bulbs on the left, and old Osram 64111 that fits on the right. I know 64111 isn't even ideal as it's 1/2 the wattage, but that's another issue...it's the only one that fits so far. Tried other bulbs from kragen/autozone and the like, nothing anywhere near it.

What's interesting is the new bulbs are not even alike , notice one on the left is wider at the top etc..

Anyway, figured I would save you guys a trip from ordering these...

Correct bulb is OSRAM 64113, not 64111.

                            Example - http://www.atlantalightbulbs.com/eca...0W12VOSRAM.htm

You can get them from the e32/e34 map lights as well :)

I think that BMW down-graded the wattage, changing from 10W to 5W. 10 watts is only OK for intermittent use.

Using an LED isn't a plug-and-play solution. I've looked. You'll have to build a mounting bracket for a stand-alone emitter.
