    Component Speaker help!

Today I started the process of installing some 5 1/4 polk components, 6 1/2 rears, and nakamichi cd deck into my E30 85 318i. Everything turned on fine and worked well just a couple issues that I could use some advice on:

    - The drivers side kickpanel speaker would not fit back in with the crossover stored directly behind. I noticed some moisture issues in both doors and would prefer not to install the cross overs there. Any other suggestions that would look clean or not noticable?

    - HU worked great. Only issue is that when i turn off the ignition the settings reset every time. Not sure if i wired something incorrectly? Any advice?

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

for your second issue... the HU is in effect turning off completely when you shut off the car. try to see if all your power leads are secure and correct

Thanks..just fixed this morning and that was the case. To double check i checked with a voltmeter before switching...works great...now just have to figure out this crossover issue.

You can buy appropriately sized mylar balloons from a party store. Put the crossover in a balloon and tie a knot where the wires exit the balloon. This should protect them from being infiltrated with water. A little vaseline or grease at the wires exiting the balloon can't hurt.
