Yeah, I will check and see if I have cables, but I don't think so.
My old distributor wants me to do a $1500 minimum order, I used to buy in $250 batches...WTF?Leave a comment:

There is no such thing as a "shallow enough" sub. Figure you gotta have depth of woofer plus 1.5" of wood (front and rear panels) and you gotta be able to INSTALL the thing, see? It really is gonna be tough, and NOTHING is gonna fit under the strut bar...well, nothing I would be willing to listen to anyway.
So one of these days Eric and I are gonna sit down and design a bar that will fit behind the standard 10" box.
Might not be a for a year or three, but sooner or later it is gonna happen.
If we had them properly high passed, they would likely last forever.Luke, I double checked, shitty for me I have VR's, so I don't have the option to bi-amp the existing crossover.
Do you have a suggestion for a decent, affordable crossover? Maybe a different set of components? I wasn't too impressed that one of the 5.25" VRs blew with about 6 hours of use. The warrantied and sent me a fresh one, but.............
Do you a favor though, since those are the cheap crossovers, they might have just a simple bypass for the mid. You would be amazed how many "respectable" seperates use no filter whatsoever on the mid...but still run them "in and out" so they look cool.
Spiffy, huh? take a close look at the circuit boards out of the case. I am sure it will be obvious.
If yours are like that, you can use the tweeter part just fine, it will behave the exact same.
See above. All about the SkidKids! I am hoping to get to be able to integrate the rear sway bar braces, too.Since you're bumping this Luke, I'm guessing you are still taking orders? I just did my tax forms like I said I was gonna do last night (sorry) and I can send you $$ for a box. I'm gonna look for pics of your boxes and maybe an answer for my question, but I'm curious too if you can use a rear strut bar. I think I remember you PMing me or saying in a thread that removal is just the 4 screws and you can take the box right out? Sorry if this has been asked and answered a thousand times, possibly in this thread. I'm posting first and searching after.
Obviously, it is gonna be an expensive bar, since it has to mount outside of the sidepanels (3 piece design) and top clear the back of the box it has to "step" out a good 3", it is gonna be a bear to build.
If anyone else wants to jump on this project, feel free. I have shipped over 20 of these boxes, and several people have joined R3V only to buy one of my boxes. I imagine any well designed brace will do the job, and it will help me sell more boxes sooner or later, right?

BTW, I wanna say thanks, guys. I really am happy to be able to do something like this. Makes me feel like all of the talent I have developed isn't a total waste.

I know this has probably been mentioned many times before, but are there any aspirations to making a box that'll fit with a rear strut bar?
Or the possibility of using a shallow sub, so they don't interfere?Leave a comment:

1/4" Tempered Hardboard, AKA "Masonite".
1/4" MDF exists, but really hard to find.Leave a comment:
