Hows the moving process? Just wondering when my box can be shipped after completion so I can get a time scale.

I wish I was back in the states, I just can't swing the price while I am studying here in Prague!

Soooo, I need to line up a decent 10" sub and I know dick about subs.
I was planning on using either a Hifonics VI Odin, or a US Acoustics USX 2080 for power as they are on the shelf.
The odin is 75 w/channel @ 4 ohms - not sure what bridged is.
    The 2080 is 80 w/channel @ 4 ohms- 280 bridged

So any suggestions on a sub that will handle either of these amps and fit a 10" Luke box? Dual VC, Single VC bridged?

This looked interesting, as in the price is right, but I don't know if blaupunkt makes a good sub or if this one can handle the power:

    Then there is this Sony:

Don't have to get it from Sonic, just looking for a deal.

    Thanks in advance.

I would really love to get in but I still dont have my W2's so I can't do my taxes. I'll have to wait until you do another build.....Although I do have the money, I told myself I can't spend it until I get my taxes back......damn!

I'll probably be interested in an IDQ12 for my box. Let me know if its a go.

Since I plan on doing the system in this car "right", do you have any suggestions for a seriously good sound quality 10"?

I'll look around as well. And then build the box to match the sub?

Hmmmm...sealed. The only issue is that the depth of the box is determined by mounting depth of the woofer. If I go for a smaller airspace (for sealed) all I would be able to do is make a narrower box. You would have a few inches of empty space on either side of the box, but that should not pose an issue.

I really don't think the location of the woofer should change, height-wise, as the angle of the front of the box mean less mounting depth.

OK, yeah, I will do sealed. I will make the box centered between the strut towers, but that means using the same rear panel will waste a bit of space.

I just need to use the same template for the side panels so there is adequate woofer mounting depth.

I suppose I could wrap the whole box in carpet, that would look OK with no rear panel, right? Only the space against the firewall would be bare, but simple carpeted panels would look/fit nice. Hell, I could make those, too and ship them with the box.

That would be a bit more hassle and a bit more material cost than the ported box.

    $200 +shipping?

You basically get to pick your "gross' airspace though.

    Luke

Ah, the woes of having a dual purpose car. Someday, I will have lots of money.
Yes, but with it solidly bolted to the rear firewall, it should have no problem passing tech.

No, but drop the rear seat and pull 4 screws and it is out
